Get Your MICCOO Drive Working
Choose your language and device below. Follow the quick setup and troubleshooting steps before returning your drive.
Connect Your MICCOO Drive Correctly
The hard drive uses a USB 3.0 Micro-B connection. Choose the connection method that matches your computer.
USB-A Connection
Insert the Micro-B end into the hard drive. Connect the USB-A end directly to a USB port on your computer.
USB-C Connection
Plug the USB-A end of the supplied cable into the included USB-C adapter, then connect the adapter to your computer.
The Micro-B connector goes into the hard drive. Do not try to plug the Micro-B connector directly into your computer.
Choose Your Device
Follow the setup steps for the device you are using. If the drive is not detected, continue to the troubleshooting section below.
Windows Setup
The drive may be detected by Windows even if it is not currently visible in This PC.
Mac Setup
macOS may read NTFS by default but may not write to it. For regular use between Windows and macOS, exFAT is recommended.
Android OTG Setup
Not all Android phones and tablets support external hard drives. Compatibility depends on the device model, system version, USB power and file system.
Chromebook
Connect the drive and open the Files app. File-system support may vary by device and ChromeOS version.
Linux Systems
Connect the drive normally. Available file-system support can vary by Linux distribution.
Drive Not Recognized?
Try these checks in order before formatting or returning the drive. Many connection issues can be identified in a few minutes.
Reconnect Both Ends
Disconnect the cable, then firmly reconnect the Micro-B end to the drive and the USB end to your device.
Try Another USB Port
Connect the drive directly to another USB port. Use USB 3.0 or higher when available.
Avoid Unpowered Hubs
Connect directly to the computer when troubleshooting. An unpowered USB hub may not provide enough power.
Check System Storage
Windows: open Disk Management.
macOS: open Disk Utility.
Test Another Computer
If possible, connect the drive to another compatible computer to determine whether the issue follows the drive.
Match the Symptom
If the drive has power but does not appear in File Explorer or Finder, check Disk Management on Windows or Disk Utility on macOS.
Reconnect the cable, try another USB port and, if available, test with another compatible cable or computer.
Connect directly to the computer, avoid unpowered hubs and check that both cable connectors are firmly seated.
If the drive is not visible in File Explorer or Finder, first check Disk Management or Disk Utility. Formatting erases all data stored on the drive.
The Problem Continues on Multiple Devices
Stop using the drive and contact MICCOO if it cannot be detected on multiple compatible computers, or if the product appears physically damaged or behaves abnormally.
Choose the Right File System
Different devices support different file systems. Choose the format based on where you plan to use your MICCOO drive.
Recommended for normal use with Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Recommended when regularly moving files between Windows and macOS.
Suitable for Mac-focused use. Windows may not recognize these formats.
Back up all important files before formatting the drive. Do not format the drive simply because it does not appear in File Explorer or Finder. Check Disk Management or Disk Utility first.
Protect Your Drive and Your Files
A few simple habits can reduce connection problems and help protect the data stored on your drive.
